Performance at NSRCC

NSRCC (a.k.a. the National Service Resort & Country Club) has been home to several of our performances in the last month.

Oh and btw...if you are looking for a place to host your child's next birthday party, we have a place in NSRCC itself ready for you. Call us (92350846) for enquiries and don't forget to ask for our Birthday Packages!

Anyways... we had this special show during a special bazaar. I was especially glad when one mother (Josey) hurriedly brought her boy Harry to the show, when we mentioned The Ronnie Rainbow Showtime was at 330pm.

Harry was extremely shy intially... to my surprise, he actually played with me and even shouted the magic words "Rainbow Magic" louder than the other kids.

We asked Josey whether she likes the show and she said some nice things about us (see video)

“When should I start planning?”

The first key to having a stress-free party planning experience is to start the planning far in advance of the party date.

You may need a month or more to plan a stress-free party, depending on how difficult it is to plan the party

Although a children's party should be nowhere near as complicated as a wedding, you should probably start your planning about a month from the party date. That way you'll have plenty of time to make it as special as you want it to be without killing yourself to get it all done.
In addition, having a little more time to prepare will allow you to buy special items, decorations, favors, etc. and you'll also have plenty of time to make things for the party if you choose.
That means that your chosen party day should be at least a month away from now.
If you have at least two weeks (okay maybe one and a half might squeeze out a good one, then you can still make it work, but you're going to have to hurry and get those invitations out in the next couple of days.

If you have less than two weeks to get this party put together, I highly suggest that you move the date of the party back. Less than two weeks to plan a successful party just isn't enough time. In fact, you won't even be able to get your invitations out and get those RSVP's in time to know who will be able to attend.

Putting a party together at the last minute puts a lot of stress on you and puts your guests out as well. But if you are running out of time and you still want a good one, you may actually take the pain of calling them up one at a time and say that I’ll send you an invitation anyway. Sometimes that can make your guests feel important. It feels more personal.

But avoid last minute actions if you don’t like the hassle. In fact, what’s most hassle free, is to hire a kid (teenager – maybe even your own if you have one) who is having his school break to call and send out the invitations, perhaps offer him 2 bucks (or more if you’re feeling rich) for every person he calls. Give him half the money when he reports job done but don’t give him the rest until the party is over. This will motivate him to do a good job and not pretend that he has called a particular someone, even though he has not.

Once you've chosen a date for your party, the next step will be choosing a theme for your party.

When's the Big Day (Part 2)

What’s The Best Hour

While choosing a date for your party, you may also want to start considering what time of the day you want to have your party. If you're planning to have your party somewhere other than your home, you may want to wait until you've booked your party to set the time in stone.

These are some common errors that party planners make, so make sure you don’t make them…

1. If you're planning to have it during or around mealtime, then plan to provide your guests with a meal. If it’s supposed to be afternoon tea, inform your guest that there will only be light refreshments. This helps you save up, as they would probably eat lunch before they come. Besides you don’t want to over stuff them for dinner.

2. If the party is for preschoolers, then don't host your party during naptime. Make sure the time of the party is appropriate for the guests that will attend.

3. If it’s gonna be a CHILDREN party then make sure the adult’s DON’T outnumber the children. I know that it may be a time to catch up with people you have not met in ages, but don’t forget that your child comes first…it’s his day! So quit the Mahjong, karaoke and whatever entertainment that don’t cater to young children.

4. Too long. A party shouldn’t be too long. A good 2 hours is fantastic. Chances are it will stretch beyond 3 hours, especially if you factor in the latecomers.

When’s the Big Day?

A child’s birthday might be his big day, just like your wedding may be yours.

The first thing you need to do before you start your party planning is to choose a date for the party. The rest of your party planning hinges on your party date.

Remember, the date of the party doesn't have to be the same day as the child's birthday.
Some parents prefer parties that are on Saturdays or Sunday afternoons, but you can hold your party on any day that you feel appropriate to your guests. In addition, make sure that all your 'helpers' as well as the majority of people you invite will be able to attend before your date gets set in stone.

A good way to make sure everyone you want (and need) is present is to get a survey done. We’ve included a survey sample for you . Just Click Here and you can cut and paste it from our site. We will show you more ways to use your survey sheet in the next couple of posts.

Wait for the next few posts, it's gonna be fun...
