What’s The Best Hour
While choosing a date for your party, you may also want to start considering what time of the day you want to have your party. If you're planning to have your party somewhere other than your home, you may want to wait until you've booked your party to set the time in stone.
These are some common errors that party planners make, so make sure you don’t make them…
1. If you're planning to have it during or around mealtime, then plan to provide your guests with a meal. If it’s supposed to be afternoon tea, inform your guest that there will only be light refreshments. This helps you save up, as they would probably eat lunch before they come. Besides you don’t want to over stuff them for dinner.
2. If the party is for preschoolers, then don't host your party during naptime. Make sure the time of the party is appropriate for the guests that will attend.
3. If it’s gonna be a CHILDREN party then make sure the adult’s DON’T outnumber the children. I know that it may be a time to catch up with people you have not met in ages, but don’t forget that your child comes first…it’s his day! So quit the Mahjong, karaoke and whatever entertainment that don’t cater to young children.
4. Too long. A party shouldn’t be too long. A good 2 hours is fantastic. Chances are it will stretch beyond 3 hours, especially if you factor in the latecomers.

When’s the Big Day?
A child’s birthday might be his big day, just like your wedding may be yours.
The first thing you need to do before you start your party planning is to choose a date for the party. The rest of your party planning hinges on your party date.
Remember, the date of the party doesn't have to be the same day as the child's birthday.
Some parents prefer parties that are on Saturdays or Sunday afternoons, but you can hold your party on any day that you feel appropriate to your guests. In addition, make sure that all your 'helpers' as well as the majority of people you invite will be able to attend before your date gets set in stone.
A good way to make sure everyone you want (and need) is present is to get a survey done. We’ve included a survey sample for you . Just Click Here and you can cut and paste it from our site. We will show you more ways to use your survey sheet in the next couple of posts.
Wait for the next few posts, it's gonna be fun...
